Michael B. Jordan is the type of actor that works really hard to encompass and bring in the best results with each role that he has.
And with Black Panther, he really had to step things up a notch.
While the previous roles he had like Creed and Fantastic 4 were ok with him being skinny, being Killmonger is no small feat.
So he did have to bulk up a lot. And he did work really hard to achieve this goal.
In fact, if you check what he did, it’s safe to say that he worked extremely hard to make all of this a reality.
And it’s safe to say that everything did pay off immensely for him in the end.
Basically, Michael B. Jordan had to acquire a lot of muscle mass for the role.
He was in quite the shape, however he needed to get more muscle mass, around 15 lbs of muscle mass in total.
This is hard to get honestly, so there was no denying that the training program had to be off the charts in order for him to develop properly and gain the muscle mass that was needed at that time.
Not really the best option, but in the end it was pretty sure that the results would be quite ok with the right approach.
He had to go through a very intense weight lifting program in order to accumulate all that extra muscle mass.
That was definitely a challenge for Michael B. Jordan, but he did end up going through it like a champ.
Ideally, he wanted to focus on things like the bench press, lat pull downs and deadlifts.
And it’s easy to see that they did end up working really well for him.
People always want to deliver the best they can with workouts like these.
So, it was pretty obvious that he needed to intensify the training and do whatever in his power to reach some amazing results.
Thankfully, that was the case here.

The workouts he did also included dips to pull ups, inclined bench presses and lateral pull downs.
All of these need to be adjusted and modified adequately so you can get the best results.
It does make a lot of sense to use it mindfully, and the results can be quite astonishing because of that reason alone.
“He told me, ‘I need to look like this’, and it’s a picture of Killmonger fighting Black panther. He was very big, so I knew I had to make Mike look like a free safety or a Marine.
“If you want to be a villain you have to have that savage type of demeanor. The way I train, the person never gets used to it. I would have him do squats and then move right to burpees – that’s not a good feeling. It was nothing that was enjoyable.
“When I was bodybuilding competing the saying always was, ‘Shows are won from the back’, so that scene where Killmonger and Black Panther fight, you can see Mike’s back and the definition and the lat spread, all the work we put in is highlighted in that one scene.”
Since Michael B. Jordan prepares for Creed 2, he has to go through a rather similar experience right now.
It’s interesting to see how everything adds up for him, but it’s also rather obvious that everything is more than intense and it’s bound to bring in front a huge range of challenges in order to make things work.
As a whole, the Michael B. Jordan workout for bulking up was quite intense and full of unique challenges.
But he did push through it and accumulate the necessary muscle mass.
Which was a nice option, considering how important it was for him to be bulky for the role!
