Growth hormone is also another hormone in the human body that promotes protein synthesis. It is released into the body which like testosterone when muscle break down occurs but is more effective at night when you are resting.

Since the process of protein synthesis is responsible both for recovery and muscle growth, this is why you will see that people taking steroids will be able to recover much faster from workouts.
